- EFFECTIVE PROTECTION - while most filters only tell you how well they perform in clear water the Advance Personal Filter Straw is designed to perform well in all types of water. If the water you are drinking from is Turbid and Stagnant then you should expect the filter to last about 25 gallons or more. We provide you with a FREE Back-flush Kit that helps you to restore the filtering capabilities to the straw should it get clogged. But keep in mind, water can look crystal clear like a mountain stream, but can still kill you from impurities in that water. However, clear water doesn't clog up the straw as quickly as dirty water can. So in this environment the Advanced Personal Filter Straw will work effectively to purify your water for 200 or more gallons of clear water. Other companies only provide the life based on clear water which is a bit misleading because that isn't typically the type of water you will find in an emergency. The Advanced Filter Straw life is determined by the type of water and how often you back-flush the straw.
